My son plays Travel Baseball. Two years ago, his team was interested in updating their existing logo, which was a straight on front view of a wolf's head. I offered to give them some options for a new look, and wanted to give them something different from the straight on front view.

I presented various sketches and two refined options for them to consider. Ultimately, they went with an option from someone else - which was an update to the front view that they had. Guess they were more comfortable sticking with something familiar.

No hard feelings, even though I really like the profile view option I gave them (on the red background). To borrow a quote from Bull Durham: Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes...it rains. Think about it.
