When I got my first apartment on my own, no roommates, I had walked past this store that had a bunch of vintage 1960s radios for sale. I bought one that I thought looked cool - it looks just like the brown radio at the top of this page. I still have that radio, and it's a little worse for wear, but still looks great. That radio inspired me to make this series. I illustrated my radio first, and then sketched out 2 others to create.

The goal was to create 3 radios from distinct eras - the brown one is an early 1960s Mid Century look, the blue radio is a late 1960s "space age" look, and the red radio is a late 1950s vibe picking up on the look of a 1957 Chevy.
